Step back in time:

 

  • Play games as Laura or her parents would have - play horseshoes, enter a sack race or an egg carrying race.
 
  • Make a simple craft
  • Churn and make butter
  • Learn how to card and spin wool
  • Listen to storytellers' read stories from Laura Ingalls Wilder's books
  • Enter the "The Best Laura Ingalls Wilder Costume Contest" (for girls 12 and Under) Judging will be held at 3:00 pm.
  • Participate in a Scavenger Hunt
  • Watch the Single Action Shooting Society re-enact 1880's sharp shooters and see their display of guns and accessories
  • Watch wood carver Richard Kasper demonstrates his exceptional carving skills

In addition, you can:

  • Tour the historic Dousman Stagecoach Inn Museum,

  • See displays of old photographs of Brookfield and Elm Grove, antique and unusual clothing from the 1800's through the 1940's and a collection of antique British dollhouses,

  • Purchase hand carved wood walking sticks and handmade jewelry,

  • Meet Hilda Demuth-Lutze & Emily Demuth-Ishida, authors of the book, Plank Road Summer, a story of two girls growing up along the Plank road in the 1800's.  The author will be on site to talk about their book and sign purchased copies
